About Dexter Parsonage Museum

The house that holds the this Museum was home to 12 Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church ministers, including Dr. Martin Luther King and his family. They lived in the parsonage from 1954 to 1960. The house has been redesigned to show up the way it looked when Dr. Lord and his family lived in it, and it incorporates living and lounge area, room and study furniture utilized by Dr. Lord.
The historical center likewise has an Interpretive Center, and the outside King-Johns Garden for Reflection. The Interpretive Center highlights a lasting show that incorporates photos of every one of the 12 ministers that lived in the Dexter Parsonage, a mass of Pastoral Wisdom with different minister's rousing statements, and beforehand unpublished photos of Dr. Martin Luther King, Montgomery pastors who took an interest in the transport blacklist, and significantly more.
