Gipsoteca Gioachino Chiesa

The Church of San Gioacchino in Prati is a place of Catholic worship in Rome, the seat of the homonymous parish, located in the Prati district, in Via Pompeo Magno, near Piazza dei Quiriti. 
The church is also a cardinal's title, whose current owner is Cardinal Leopoldo José Brenes Solórzano. This church was built at the behest of Pope Leo XIII, who intended in this way to celebrate his priestly jubilee: the first stone was laid in 1881, but the works were undertaken between 1891 and 1898, when the church was opened to the public although the works were completed only in 1911. 
It was dedicated to St. Joachim, the father of the Virgin Mary, in memory of the pope's baptismal name.
