About Clusone
Clusone is an Italian town and commune in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. Located within the Val Serine, it received the honorary title of city on 15 May 1957 with a presidential decree which ratified a Napoleon's promise of the yr 1801. The town is of historical origins, in all likelihood dating again to the primary settlement of Orobii, which was founded around 1300 BC. Later, in the Roman period, the village became a middle of more importance in the entire district, including the development of fortifications. The metropolis's call originates from this era and might come from the Latin word clausus, indicating an enclosed space surrounded by way of mountains.
The following centuries saw the end of Roman domination and the subsequent arrival of the Lombard’s, who had been in turn observed by way of the Franks. The first written document which mentions Cloisonne dates from 774, in a deed that recorded the grant of the nucleus of the rocca fortress via Charlemagne to the priests of Saint Martin of Tours.
