Present amongst the ruins of the Nalanda University, this Stupa was built in the 3rd century by Ashoka in the honour of Sariputra , a follower of Buddha. After the seven accretions to it, this structure is shaped like a pyramid and is flanked by flights of steps and splendid sculptures , this stupa offers a glance of the splendid past of Nalanda.
The corner looms and the neighbouring stupa are ornamented with stretch of niches portraying Bodhistava, Bhuddha and other important events of buddha’s life.
