The Syntheri Rocks are situated in the dense forests of Dandeli wildlife sanctuary in the Western ghats. It has been highly important to the geologists, archeologists, historians, tourists and nature lovers.
Situated about 28 kms away from the town of Dandeli, this monumental rock is a massive limestone rock and owes its formation to the volcanic eruptions that occurred millions of years ago. The name of the rock is derived from the name of an English woman, Cinthera who was believed to have discovered this place in the 12th century.
It is a masterpiece that emerges from the banks of River Kalindi near its confluence with River Kali.
