Soochipara Falls also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is surrounded by huge hills and dense forests. Soochipara waterfall is one of the best tourist spots in Wayanad. The rock near has a resemblance to a needle and hence got the name Soochippara. Soochi means needle and Paara mean rock in Malayalam. It is located near the town of Meppadi, falls from a height of 100 feet to 300 feet. It is a three-tiered waterfall in Vellarimala, Wayanad, surrounded by Deciduous, Evergreen and Montane forests. The water from Soochipara Falls later joins Chulika River or popularly known as Chaliyar River.
It is known for rock climbing and nature walks. There is a pool below this waterfall, which is suitable for bathing, river rafting and swimming. The waterfall by itself is a visual delight.
