Shrigonda

Shrigonda is a civil chamber in Ahmednagar locale in the Indian territory of Maharashtra. The place comprises of twelve shivalingas. This place has a long history following back to the thirteenth century. In the antiquated time Shrigonda was known by the "Chambargonda". In the seventeenth century, amid the Peshwa's administration around 208 sections of land 0.84 km² of land was given to Shri Hari Mahapurush, the seventh era relative of Shri Pralhad Maharaj Mahapurush. Shri Hari had just a single child, Narayan. Narayan had three children – Vishnu, Dattatraya and Gopal. Of the three, Dattatraya consumed his time on earth in Kirtan and Pravachan and edification of Bhagwat Dharma.

There are over a lakh of his devotees all over Maharashtra. After his nirvana in 1992, his adherents contributed and fabricated his Samadhi close to the Samadhi of Shri Pralhad Raj and different precursors. The children of Dattatraya and Gopal committed their opportunity to Bhajans and Kirtans. The Maratha aristocrat Mahadji Shinde was occupant of Shrigonda before he moved to North India and progressed toward becoming Maharaja of Gwalior. His relative Maharaja Jiwajirao Shinde gave royal residences and land to Rayat Shikshan Sanstha which runs schools in provincial territories of Maharathra.
