About Quila Mubarak
Among the top attractions in the town is the Quila Mubarak. You must visit this outstanding architectural marvel on your first day of visit to Patiala. Its elegance lies in the fact that this monument is the hallmark of Sikh architecture. It sprawls over a 10 acre land in the heart of the city.
The main palace in the complex, Quila Androon, the guesthouse and the Darbar hall are the features of the palace. There is a temple dedicated to Shiv outside the main fort area Darshani gate and a bazaar bordering the streets on both sides. The bazaars are studded with ornate jewellery, vibrant parandas and Patiala suits, jootis, handmade fabrics and other local items.
The whole city of Patiala is developed around Quila Mubarak, which used to be the primary residence of the Patiala aristocrats earlier. The exemplary architecture of the palace is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style.
