Nagina

Nagina is a town and a city board in Bijnor region in the Indian province of Uttar Pradesh. Nagina is the word for "Gem", it was named by Syed's who gotten this place as jagir by the Mughals. Amid British period, it remained the home office of Nagina Tahsil, Bijnor region, in the United Province; and from 1817– 1824, it was the central station of recently framed Northern Moradabad district. In 1901, the Nagina Tehsil had 464 towns and two towns: Nagina, with a populace of 21,412, and Afzalgarh, with a populace of 6,474.

Rise of Rohilla control in the territory was set apart by an eighteenth century fortification, which was later utilized as tahsili or tehsil workplaces. In 1805, the city was sacked by the Pashtuns under Muhammad Amir Khan. As a piece of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Nagina was the site of fight between the Nawab of Najibabad and the British, finishing off with the annihilation of the Nawab on 21 April 1858, after which British built up their power in Bijnor, and later, in 1886, Nagina turned into a region.
