Mukerian is a city and civil gathering of Hoshiarpur locale in Punjab. Mukerian Hydel Project is one of the greatest water system extends in India. The Pong Dam crosswise over waterway Beas is around 35 km from Mukerian. Mukerian is situated on National Highway 44 and state parkway 15 and around 450 km north of New Delhi. A Lord Shiva sanctuary is in the town of Kathgarh/Mirthal, around 20 km from Mukerian city. There is a characteristic Shivling in the sanctuary.
There is another sanctuary Dera Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Maharaj found 7km from Mukerian in the town Harsa Kalota known by the holy person Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Baba Bohran Walay. Basmati, Sharbati etc. are some of the better known ieties produced here in abundance. Mukerian is one of the biggest tehsils in Punjab. There are a number of villages that come under it. Many villages like Taggar Kalan, Dhoula Khera, LandayMohiuldinpur Gazi, Manjpur, Ladpur, Tanda Ram Sahai, Mansoorpur, BehBal-Manj, Kasrawan Aima Mangat, Budhabarh, Purika, Pawar, etc. Most of the population is engaged in agriculture.
