The Khandar fort has been constructed strategically in the mountain region that helped it gain power over the attackers. The fort is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, on the boundary of the Ranthambore National Park & Tiger reserve. The fort contains two huge water tanks called the Ramkunda and Laxman Munda along with seven smaller ponds.
The best time to visit the fort is during the months of October to march when the temperature is slightly cold. The fortification comprises of seven temples including one Jain temple that has the stone cut icons of Jain masters. Alternate temples are the Hanuman sanctuartemple, Chaturbhuja Temple, Gobind Devji Temple, Jayanti Mata Temple and the Jagatpalji Temple.
