About Jal Mahal

Built by Raja Madho Singh the first, this was technically used for hunting purposes. It is said that the kings used to use this Maha;l for duck hunting purpose. Other literature even pointed out that this was a symbol of formation of truce between the Rajput empire and the Mughal empire. This is evident from the fact that the architecture of this mahal had both the Mughal and the Rajputana styles embedded in it.

This beautiful place was never left abandoned even by the successors. It is said that this place was even more beautified by the king Jai Singh 2 who was the successor. Coming to the location, this place is quite near to the city of Jaipur. This place is located at about 5km in distance from the main city of Jaipur.
