Thousand of women in the stronghold performed "Jauhar" by bouncing into flame and the men surged out of the fortification to battle unto demise. Hammir and his dedicated officers were executed in the fight and Khilji assumed control over the post in July 1301 A.D. Hammir was a striking steadfast and benevolent ruler. His diligence to adhere to his words is unbelievable and till date he has an extraordinary place in the hearts of the general population of this zone. 

Khilji made one of his commanders accountable for the zone and came back to Delhi. After Khilji the fortification by and by passed on to the Rajput rulers.
