Five Faced Hanuman Temple

One of the most famous temples in Rameswaram, the five faced Hanuman temple in Rameswaram is the considered to be the place where Lord Hanuman revealed his five faces. These five faces included the faces of Lord Hanuman, Adivaraha, Narasimha, Hayagriva and Garuda. It is believed that the he was adorned with senthooram by the saints post revelation. 

Situated only 2 kms from the main city, this temple has a big statue of Lord Hanuman with his senthooram. The idols of Lord Rama and Sita were also placed here in 1964. They had been brought from Dhanushkodi. The floating stone in the sea outside the temple is believed to have been used in the construction of the stone bridge.
