Celebrated on the birth anniversary of Buddhist Guru Padmasambhava, Hemis festival is one of the most famous monastic festival. The exceptional masked dance performance by Lamas is one the main attraction of this festival. Tourist travel from different parts of the world to attend this festival and can been be seen dressed in different colorful costumes. The festival celebrations happens for two days, on the second day the offerings of the festival are taken out in the form of a procession and burnt to send away the evil spirit. The festival definitely offers extravagant colors, teachings of Buddhism culture and Tibetan monasteries.
