About Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, Kakinada

Chaukhandi Stupa is one of the most important Buddhist Stupas at Sarnath Varanasi India which is in Uttar Pradesh. It is a make of brick and stones, whose square edifice is surrounded by in shape an octagonal tower.

The present shape to the Chaukhandi Stupa was given by Godhan, the son of Raja Todarmal.

He built an octagonal tower to commemorate the visit of Humayun, Humayun is the great Mughal ruler.

The stupa was worked to stamp where Lord Buddha met his first educates as he headed out from Bodh Gaya to Sarnath.

Today, the Chaukhandi stupa stands neatly in lush green lawns, well maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Draped in the calmness and mystery of history, the Chaukhandi Stupa forms a gateway to the Buddhist city of Sarnath.Sarnath is a very holy site for Buddhist pilgrimage in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The entire city contains is a testimony to the Buddhist culture because of the many historical Buddhist monuments that call this city their home.
The people of India, as well as Foreigners too, visit there for the worship.
