Bhramaramba Devi Temple is the ideal site for the ardent devotees of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti, his consort. The temple is situated in the vicinity of the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple. The story behind this temple is that it was the place where Maa Sati's head fell off after it was severed from her corpse by Lord Vishnu.
The temple is dedicated to Bhramaramba devi, the goddess of bees. She is idolized as Goddess Lakshmi and is known to be the killer of the demon Arunasara. She was the one to free people from the chains and terror of the demon.
