Ana Sagar Lake situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state in India is an artificial lake which was built by Arnoraja alias Ana, the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named after him. Ana Sagar Lake is surrounded by Daulat Bagh Gardens and Khobra Behroon temple, two popular attractions of Ajmer. This most attractive lake is spread over 13 Kilometres. The lake is the biggest one in Ajmer with the maximum depth of the lake is 4.4 m with the storage capacity of 4.75 million cubic meters.
It is a calm and relaxing place to visit. There is an island in the centre of the lake which is accessible by boat. There is a small boat round to an island which is accessible by all tourists. The lake is vast and beautiful at sunset. There are a number of vendors selling food for fish, people buy and feed the fish. Tourist can also indulge in water scooter ride or boating here. It also swings with refreshments like picnic spot for family and playgrounds for children. A very pleasant and a beautiful tourist place to visit which looks like heaven on earth with a peaceful and natural environment.
