About Tour First

Tour First is an office high rise in Courbevoie, the business region of the Paris metropolitan region. The pinnacle was worked in 1974 by Bouygues for the UAP insurance agency. Its ground shape was as a three-pointed star whose branches were isolated each by a 120° edge. This specific shape was picked to symbolize the merger of the 3 French insurance agencies that were at the cause of UAP. The pinnacle was renamed tour AXA when UAP was purchased by the AXA insurance agency in 1996.

Huge scale redesign of the pinnacle started in 2007 and was finished in 2011. The outside appearance of the structure was totally changed, with additional stature added to the pinnacle. It is at present the tallest high rise in France, just outperformed in stature by the Eiffel Tower. Another AXA tower exists in New York city, USA, which is 228.6 m tall; tour AXA in Montreal, Quebec, Canada was finished in 1974 and is 104m.
