About The Garden of the Explorers
The Explorers Garden opened on March 20, 2002. Introduced in the Battery of the Rider, it houses herbal species brought from around the globe by voyagers and botanists from Brest. A footbridge sitting above the belvedere offers the walker an unhampered perspective of the stronghold, the mouth of the Penfeld, the military port and all the more extensively on the harbor of Brest.
The ranches in the upper piece of the garden are made out of similar plants exhibit in the lower part. They are however organized, planted in a blend to bring out their agricultural interest, the ornamentation of the parks and gardens of the private properties of the military and their companions in Brittany, the improvement of the herbal legacy of a district with climatic conditions so positive.
