Shedra is a Tibetan word which means “place of teaching” but preferly refers to the educational program in Tibetan Buddhist nunneries and monasteries. This educational program is usually attended by monks and nuns between their early teen years and early twenties. Shedra is iously described as a philosophy school, university, or monastic college.
This Shedra is dedicated for this noble purpose in 2014 in the west of town and offers education to around 70 students, aged 6 to 25 and has some fine murals in its new central tsuglhakhang Tibetan Buddhist temple. The shedra is situated on a nice setting with a wonderful backdrop.
