Warren County Old Courthouse
About Warren County Old Courthouse
The Old Courthouse is a historical place in Mississippi, and was an image of Confederate protection amid the Siege of Vicksburg. It was assigned a National Historic Landmark in 1968 and a Mississippi Landmark in 1986.
The land marked zone involves the whole Courthouse Square, which incorporates the courthouse and four joined structures that were initially reservoir houses for getting water to battle fires, yet these were later changed over into offices. The property for the new building was given to the city by its author, Newitt Vick.During the Civil War, the building was one of the primary focuses in Vicksburg. As hard as the Union attempted, the building endured just a single real hit.
