The Ratnadurga Fort is a famous monument in Maharashtra, surrounded by Arabian Sea from three sides. The fort is shaped like a horse shoe and has strong fortifications from South East to west side. There is a main entrance gate and a lighthouse on one of the bastion. There are many plants in the vicinity.
There is a temple of Hanuman ji at the entrance. Inside, there is a door with an ancient structure, from where one can view the entire area of the fort. There is a beautiful temple of Goddess Bhagawati, where the festival of Navratri is celebrated by the devotees every year. The fort was constructed ruling the Brahamanee rule and was handed over to the Aangre family. Later, Peshva won this Fort from them in a war, followed by the Britishers' seize of the fort.
