Biltmore House, the primary home, is a Châteauesque-style chateau worked by George Washington Vanderbilt II in the vicinity of 1889 and 1842 and is the biggest exclusive house in the United States, at 178,926 square feet 16,622.8 m2 of floor space 135,280 square feet 12,568 m2 of living region.
Still possessed by George Vanderbilt's relatives, it stands today as a standout amongst the most unmistakable outstanding cases of the Gilded Age. In the 1880s, at the stature of the Gilded Age, George Washington the general II, most youthful child of George Washington, started to make consistent visits with his mom, Maria Louisa Kissam Vanderbilt 1821– 1896, to the Asheville, North Carolina, region.
