Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum are situated on the downtown Portsmouth. The historical center covers the 250+ year association with the shipyard - America's most established and biggest maritime shipyard situated on the Portsmouth Waterfront. This rich history is told through displays, hands-on projects and uncommon occasions.

The Lightship Portsmouth is an exhibition hall deliver that is a piece of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum. Worked in 1915 and started benefit as a major aspect of the U.S. Beacon Service in 1916. In 1964, the lightship was resigned to Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1989, the Lightship Portsmouth was assigned a National Historic Landmark.
