About Hunterian Museum

The University of Glasgow's Hunterian is the most established gallery in Scotland. It covers the Hunterian Museum, the Hunterian Art Gallery, the Mackintosh House, the Zoology Museum and the Anatomy Museum, all situated in different structures on the fundamental grounds of the University in the west end of Glasgow.

In 1783, William Hunter granted his significant and changed accumulations to the University of Glasgow. Seeker, keeping in touch with Dr. William Cullen They were "to be well and painstakingly stuffed up and securely passed on to Glasgow and conveyed to the Principal and Faculty of the College of Glasgow to whom I give and grant the same to be kept and saved by them and their successors forever... in such sort, way, way and frame as ... should appear to be most fit and most helpful for the change of the understudies of the said University of Glasgow.
