1. The Lotus Temple
The Lotus Temple is a Bahá'í House of Worship which is situated in New Delhi. It consists of 27 structures similar to petals of the lotus flower that open onto a central hall approximately 40m high. It has nine sides, nine doors, and can put up 2,500 people. Its surface is made of white marble from Mount Pentelicus in Greece, the same marble which was used to build the Parthenon. The Dome of the Rock is a 7th-century building which is a masterpiece of Islamic Culture. It is situated in Jerusalem. It was constructed between 687 and 691 by Caliph Abd al-Malik. It has an octagonal plan and the rotunda dome of wood which are of Byzantine design. The Persian tiles which are present on the outer side and the marble slabs that embellish the interior were made by Suleiman I in 1561.It is the oldest extant Islamic monument and has served as a model for architecture and other artistic endeavors for over a millennium.

The White House was designed by James Hoban who was an Irish architect. In 1792 Hoban presented a plan for the presidential mansion and consequently got the commission to build the White House. This White House was made of white-painted Aquia sandstone.
