Can Llopis Romanticism Museum

The Can Llopis Romanticism Museum is a museum placed in Sitges l-style constructing within the centre of Sitges and is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. The Museu Romantic is located within the former Casa Llopis, constructed in 1793 outside the partitions of the medieval metropolis. For a few years it was one of the most marvelous stately houses in Sitges's new district. It become the house of numerous generations of the Llopis family, local people of seafaring origin who had climbed the social ladder thanks to the accumulation of land and the exchange in wines and liquors. The owner of the house changed into Bernardi Llopis I Pujol 1814-1891, one of the most influential and popular figures in 19^th -century Sitges.

At that time, the local post office turned into placed on the ground ground of the mansion, as you will see from the letter box in the shape of a lion with its mouth open next to the the front door. In 1935, the remaining heir of the own family, the diplomat Manuel Llopis de Casades1885-1935, bequeathed the family domestic to the Generalitat de Catalunya Catalan Government for conversion as a museum.
