About Calimanesti
Calimanesti, often referred to as Calimanesti-Caciulata, is a metropolis in Valcea County, southern Romania. It is located in the ancient area of Oltenia and the northern a part of the county, at the traditional route connecting the vicinity to Transylvania, and on the southern end of the Olt River valley crossing the Southern Carpathians. The vicinity of numerous thermal springs, Calimanesti-Caciulata is known as a spa city. During the twentieth century, many inns and treatment facilities had been constructed in Caciulata, a northern place of the town that is close to Cozia Monastery.
The Monastery become built through Mircea the Old in 1388 which is also the day of the town Calimanesti and Ramnicu Valcea. Arutela Roman Fort is positioned right here. The vicinity across the town is complete of sparkling water springs and spa waters that aren't in use. The antique town became a bit smaller, the island you see on river Olt was larger and the street was on what's now the river bed. In 1918 it was the important factor of invasion in Transylvania.
