Voineasa

Voineasa is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Valcea county, Oltenia, Romania. The settlement is attested in 1520, in a charter at some stage in the reign of Neagoe Basarab, ruler of Wallachia and Ioan Zapolia, voivode of Transylvania, who determined the border between Wallachia and Transylvania.

After 1774, numerous shepherds from Sibiu region settled in Voineasa, and in 1908, the settlement changed into d commonplace.
