About Castel Torre
Castel Leone is a medieval castle above Lana. It is located on the road that leads to the Palade pass, which joins the Burgraviato to the Val di Non.
It was erected in a particularly happy position, from which it dominates the whole valley that descends towards the Adige, from the ancestors of the Brandis family around 1200; and even today although uninhabited belongs to that same family: something extremely rare in the usually troubled history of passages owned by the castles of Alto Adige, and which unites him to the other family castle, Castel Brandis, always in Lana.
