About Brunnenburg
Schloss Brunnenburg is arranged over the city of Merano, on the edges of the district of Tirol. Initially assembled around 1250, the château was totally reestablished and refreshed in the mid-twentieth century by Boris and Mary de Rachewiltz, who have made it their home.
Boris de Rachewiltz is an Egyptologist. Encompassing the manor is the family's vineyard. Mary de Rachewiltz is the little girl of the writer Ezra Pound and the violinist Olga Rudge. Pound remained with her and her family at the château in 1958 after he came back from the United States. He composed the last 6 of his 116 "Cantos" of The Cantos.
