Ucchi Pillayar Temple is a Hindu Temple devoted to Lord Vinayaga situated at Rock Fort Temple Complex in Trichy City in Trichy District of Tamilnadu. The Rockfort sanctuary complex has three sanctuaries, two of which are devoted to Lord Ganesha, one at the foot and the Ucchi Pillayar Temple at the best, and the Thayumana Temple between them. The Thayumana sanctuary, the biggest of the three, houses a holy place for Amman the Goddess and the fundamental god.
Fancifully this stone is where Lord Ganesh kept running from King Vibishana, in the wake of setting up the Ranganathaswamy divinity in Srirangam. As per epigraphic prove, the slope post sanctuary was worked amid the govern of Mahendra Pallava-Gunaparan in the sixth century. Uchi Pillaiyar Temple is situated on the pinnacle of the Rock Fort hill.
