Thirupullani is a Vishnu shrine. It is situated at a distance of 66 km from Rameshwaram & 15 km from Ramanathapuram. It is also known as Dharbasayanam as Rama took rest on a couch of grass at this place. Other names of this place are Thiruvadanai, Pularanyam, Adhisethu and Ratnaharam.
There is a figure, which portrays Vibishana, the lord of Lanka and his Devi loving Vishnu. The Pandyas, Vanadhirayas and Sethupathis constructed this sanctuary. There is pipal tree behind the sanctum. Many Nagas serpents can be found in stones around the tree. Adhi Jagannatha Perumal is the managing divinity here. One can achieve the sanctum of Goddess Padmasini Thayar in the wake of intersection a gopuram here.
Three stems of lotus branch from his maritime and on every one of them are situated Brahma, Siva and Moon. The following is the sanctum of Adi Jagannatha and the sanctum of Rama lying on the grass sofa. Sugabrahmar, Charapar and Brigu Maharishis are seen situated at the feet of Rama here.
