The Grange is located in Yercaud, close to the town of Salem. It is one of the oldest buildings in the town. It was built in the 1820s by the then district collector. He was the first one to introduce coffee from Arabia and apples and other fruits from South Africa between 1820 and 1829. The building is believed to have been the summer resort of Robert Clive, general of the East India Company in the late 19th century.
