St. Andrews Church

St. Andrew's Church is an old Anglican Church situated at the Mall Road in Darjeeling town of West Bengal. It is a standout amongst the most lovely structure in Darjeeling and furthermore one of the well known journey spots to visit in Darjeeling.

Named after the benefactor holy person of Scotland St. Andrew, the establishment stone of the congregation was laid by the British in 1843 CE and was finished in 1844. The congregation was seriously harmed by a seismic tremor and must be reconstructed in the year 1873. The early admirers of this congregation included numerous Scottish officers and tea grower living in the Darjeeling Hill territory. The congregation can oblige the gathering of around 200 people.

The church was worked in Gothic Style of engineering which is one of the mark styles of British design. The birthplace of this engineering is accepted to go back to twelfth century AD. A portion of its attributes incorporate the pointed curve, the ribbed vault and the flying support, a large portion of which is found in the St. Andrew's Church. The mood inside the congregation is exceptionally otherworldly, ethereal and calm.
