The Shivneri Fort is a seventeenth century military fort. It is situated close Junnar in Pune region in Maharashtra, India. It is the origination of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and the organizer of Maratha Empire. The Shivneri is known to be a position of Buddhist domain from the first century AD.
The holes, shake cut engineering and water framework show nearness of home from the first century. The Shivneri got its name as it was under the ownership of the Yadavas of Devagiri. This fortification was predominantly used to monitor the old exchanging course from Desh to the port city of Kalyan.
