Tharangambadi signifying 'town of the moving waves' is a lovely ocean side town in Tamil Nadu near Karaikal, 35km N of Nagapattinam and 12km S of the old port of Poompuhar. The Danish East India Company procured it in 1692 from the leader of Tanjore, and named the settlement Tranquebar or Trankebar. The forcing Dansborg Fort remains before a long extend of brilliant shoreline inverse a favor inn appropriately named The Bungalow On The Beach. A destroyed shore sanctuary is over this inn.
