Kadayanallur

Kadayanallur is the second largest town in Tirunelveli district. The Town is located on the foot of the western ghat in the east and slope from west to east. The Town is arranged around 16 km on north of Courtlam. The Town all in all is having dry atmosphere with the exception of amid the rainstorm time frame. The name Kadaiyanallur originates from "Kadaikaaleeswara", the name of the directing divinity of Kadayaleeswarar kovil, a Hindu sanctuary in Kadaiyanallur.

The town is on the foot of the Western Ghat and has a normal rise of 191 m 627 ft. The city is encompassed by paddy fields, coconut ranches, and numerous lakes. A little waterway streams amidst the city. There are some rough areas on the western end of the city called locally as 'parumbu'. Attakulam, Paloorani, Thamaraikulam, Annamalai peri and paatiyuthukulam and last and biggest of those is Periyakulam are the lakes found in this city.
