About Jorpokhri

Jorpokhri, situated at an altitude of 7400 feet, is famous for its picturesque beauty. It is located at a distance of 5 kilometers from the village of Lepchajagat.

Its main attractions are two beautiful ponds. “Jor” means “two” and “pokhri” means “ponds”. It is known to house Himalayan Salamanders. The pond is a perfect picnic spot. The tranquil and serene environment is a rare delight. It also offers a stunning view of the snow covered peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
