Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion has a forcing structure and a similarly noteworthy design with huge and complicatedly cut columns. The inside enrichments of this grand building are in a simply Indian style. The feature of the royal residence is the kalyana mandapa which is a square molded lobby with huge teak columns decorated with 40 feet high glass arch. It is based on a hillock on the west side of the Kukkarahalli Lake. Jayalakshmi Vilas royal residence was initially named as the "Principal Rajkumari Mansion". The castle was worked in 1905, and is one of the five built by the Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar. This specific castle was implied for his oldest girl, princess Jayalakshammanni. She was married to Sirdar M. Kantharaj Urs in 1897 and he was delegated as the Dewan of Mysore later. The castle was worked, with regards to the status of the princess and the Dewan, since the last's home was viewed as insufficient.
