Elephant Falls

This enchanting and picturesque fall nestles in the city of Shillong. Previously named as Kshaid Lai Pateng, this waterfall was named as the Elephant falls due to the hard pronunciation. The literal meaning of this waterfalls is three step waterfall. This cascading waterfall was after a rock which resembled an elephant in shape.

Unfortunately, this rock was destroyed in an earthquake which occurred in the 19th century. So you cannot see this rock anymore. This is a must visit place for a family visit. One can even organize a picnic at this spot. This mesmerizing waterfall will surely soothe your mind and calm down your anxiety.
