The word Dhuandhar is derived from two Hindi words- Dhuan (smoke) and Dhar (flow) meaning a waterfall where we get smoke flow like feeling. The smoke is formed by water vapors or the smoke cascade. The falls is a waterfall located in Jabalpur district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The falls is located on Narmada River in Bhedaghat and are 30 meters high. The Narmada River, making its way through the world famous Marble Rocks, narrows down and then plunges creating a bouncy mass of mist.
The best time to visit the falls is during Sharad Purnima when Narmada Mahotsav gets celebrated. One sees the spectacular white marbles when the moon light falls on it and give it a silvery appearance along with the majestic flow of such force; Dhuandhar Falls. the place also delights the mind at the time of sunset which perhaps another new sight to dazzle the place.
