Dhamma Chakra stupa is one of the most remarkable Buddhist stupas in the country. Situated in Nagpur, it is here that Dr B R Ambedkar initiated the conversion of many Dalits to Buddhists.
The stupa is an architectural beauty. It extends up to a height of 120 feet. The stupa is made up of Dhaulpur sandstone, marbels and granites. It spreads grace and peace to the surroundings. The Dhamma Chakra is visited by many tourists and devotees from various lands throughout the year. People visit the stupa to learn about the contribution of Dr Ambedkar and experience the holiness of Buddhism.
The complex has a Vihar and Bodhi tree that lie in front of the Stupa. There is a hollow dome above the hall, surrounded by fountains. The large arc doors decorated by the Ashok Chakra with statues of elephants, horses and lions are worth eyeing.
