About Chennamangalam

Home to one of the most seasoned synagogues in Kerala, Chennamangalam or Chendamangalam is a panchayat in Paravur, Ernakulam, Kerala. Comprising of bays, fields and hillocks, this place is situated at a separation of 23 kilometers from Eranakulam. Other than the synagogue, there is likewise the Jesuit church and demolishes of a Jesuit school. On the Kottayil Kovilakam hillocks lies a Hindu Temple, a Syrian Christian church, a mosque and a Jewish Synagogue which was reestablished, this at a separation of 1 kilometer. Behind the synagogue, in a patio lies the old Jewish graves' going back to just about 1264 AD.
Here one can discover stays of the Vypeenakotta Seminary, which was worked for the Syrians back in the 16 th century. The old Syrian Catholic church worked in the year 1201 is the site of India's first printing press.
