Bangalpukhari is a celebrated water tank that lies in the southern piece of Jorhat City, close to the Na-ali. The tank was built by Rupsingh Bangal in 1739, in the wake of slaughtering the Badan Barphukan, an Ahom senator. Badan Barphukan caught Burmese officers and furthermore tormented the general population of Assam. In the long stretch of Sravana of Saka, Rupsingh Bangal murdered Badan Barphukan, when he was going for shower.
For this demonstration of grit, Rupsingh Bangal was granted with cash, which he used for the development of this tank. The locals of the district don't take a gander at the water of this tank, as they trust it will bring misfortune since it was burrowed from the cash got for slaughtering a person.
