Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, additionally known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is placed in Deoghar within the Santhal Parganas department of the nation of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complicated consisting of the primary temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is mounted, and 21 different temples. As per the accounts described in the Shiva Purana, it was in the Treta yuga that the evil presence Ravana, ruler of Lanka, felt that his capital would not be immaculate and free from foes except if Mahadeva Shiva remains there until the end of time. He paid consistent reflection to Mahadeva. At last Shiva got satisfied and allowed him to convey his Atmalinga with him to Lanka. Mahadeva exhorted him not to place or exchange this lingam to anybody.
