About Putnok
Putnok is a town in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen county, Northern Hungary. It lies 40 km away from Miskolc, among the Bükk Mountains and the river Sajo. The location has been inhabited due to the fact Neolithic times. Until 1283 it turned into royal assets, part of the Gomor property. In 1283 King Laszlo IV gave it to the Ratolth circle of relatives.
The family did a lot for the development of the city, but after the death of the dynasty founder Miklos a own family feud started out, and the inhabitants of the town and their other estates suffered lots. The Putnoky own family had the fort of Putnok built among 1412 and 1427. During the Turkish career of Hungary the fortress turned into destroyed, and in 1834 a manor house was built in its place. The metropolis developed loads inside the nineteenth century, however it lost its city status in 1881. After World War I, in 1920 the Treaty of Trianon became signed. 92% of Gomor-Kishont county become ceded to newly fashioned Czechoslovakia. Only its south-eastern ends, including Putnok, remained in Hungary.
