It took over two years after the finish of the war to clean up the rubble before the remaking of the demolished town of Lens could start. In 1926 designer Urbain Cassan attracted up plans to construct another station in the state of a steam train, with a clock tower for its pipe and misrepresented curves for its wheels. You can visit this place.
Inside the station Cassan included a mosaic the subjects of railroads and coal-mining to mirror the building's motivation and the historical backdrop of the town. Following stations are Arras, Avion, Sallaumines and preceding stations are Bethune,Loos-en-Gohelle and Pont-de-Sallaumines.
