About Fontana Rosa

Fontana Rosa is a memorable greenery enclosure arranged on the Avenue Blasco Ibanez in Menton, Alpes-Maritimes, on the French Riviera. The Spanish author Vicente Blasco Ibanez 1869-1928 started to assemble it from 1922 on, and he set up home here with his second spouse, Elena, and kicked the bucket there in 1928. This greenery enclosure with Spanish and Menton stoneware is found in road Blasco Ibanez, close Garavan station, and was made a Historical Monument in 1990.

It is likewise called "Le Jardin des Romanciers", and was frequented by big names, for example, Jean Cocteau. It was where Blasco Ibanez composed Mare Nostrum, a novel recorded later in 1926. The patio nursery enlivened by Andalusian and Arabian-Persian styles contains species, for example, Ficus macrophylla, Araucaria heterophylla , palm trees, banana trees or scented rosebushes. It is a tribute to Vicente's most loved essayists : Cervantes, Dickens, Shakespeare or Honore de Balzac, whose busts can be found at the passageway and to whom he committed a few wellsprings and rotundas.

Its fundamental structures are a little raised manor with polychromatic ceramics which houses a library and an individual film projector room, and a primary house Villa Emilia in the lower some portion of the property that dates from the 19th century. The compositional complex likewise has an aquarium, a corridor, a solid pergola, columns, blossom vases, fired framed seats around the primary house and a major round, steel pergola covering a long staircase amidst the property.
